Total Eye Care and Bausch + Lomb Announce Back to School Contact Lens Program

From July through September, Total Eye Care is partnering with Bausch + Lomb to raise awareness about the benefits of daily disposable contact lenses for children.

As parents prepare to send their children back to school, it’s important to make sure that our children are getting proper vision care for optimal performance in and out of the classroom.

“Daily disposable contact lenses are easily the safest and most convenient contact lens option.  Now through our partnership with Bausch + Lomb, we hope that more children and adults will experience the convenience and safety of daily disposable contact lenses” says Dr. Richard Driscoll of Total Eye Care in Colleyville.

Through our partnership we will be able to offer a 90 pack of daily disposable contact lenses for only $35.

Announcing a New Website OrthoKDoctor.com

Total Eye Care unveiled OrthoKDoctor.com a new website designed to answer patient questions about Orthokeratology, a safe and effective alternative to refractive surgery

Orthokeratology is known by numerous terms, the most common of which are Gentle Vision Shaping System, OrthoK, Corneal Refractive Therapy and Overnight Vision Correction. Total Eye Care introduces the new website OrthoKDoctor.com to inform patients about this exciting technology.

“Orthokeratology is a safe and gentle method where contact lenses temporarily reshape the cornea while a patient sleeps. The beauty of OrthoK is that it is temporary.  As long as a patient wears a retainer lens the effect remains, much like wearing a retainer after orthodontic braces are removed” says Dr. Richard Driscoll, clinical director at Total Eye Care.

Updated Orthokeratology Information

We have extensively updated our article on the Gentle Vision Shaping System

™ also known as Orthokeratology or Corneal Refractive Therapy, on the Total Eye Care website.  I’d love to hear some feedback.

Revisiting Visual Ergonomics

As I sit here this morning sipping my morning mocha and looking for a place to get a little admin work done before I see patients I thought it would be great to look out the window and do a little people watching while I get some work done….. wrong.  What was I thinking?

It sounded great at first, sitting here with good coffee and chocolate carefully blended together while I view a beautiful Texas morning out the window.  Have you ever tried looking at a computer monitor with a bright sunny background in the back?  I’ll save you the trouble don’t.  Your eyes will be killing you before you get your computer connected to the coffee shop’s WIFI.  The appeal of it all sounded great, however had I remembered an article I wrote a while back about visual ergonomics I would have thought better about my seat location.  What can I say the Texas sunshine was calling to me.

Visual Ergonomics is the study of setting up your environment for maximum visual comfort and productivity.
